2020 OSULA Paint and Sip event is a success in support of our scholarship fund

The Ohio State Alumni Club of Los Angeles (OSULA) held its annual OSULA Paint & Sip event on Sunday, Feb. 9 at the Arts District Brewing Company in Los Angeles and received a maximum turnout from multiple generations of Buckeye enthusiasts.

With proceeds benefitting the OSULA Scholarship Fund, a group of 32 Buckeyes were on hand to learn how to free-hand paint their own Downtown Los Angeles sunset scene with the help of instructor Michael Gomezas. Attendees also enjoyed light appetizers, beverages and networking activities.

“We decided to turn this into a fundraising activity and it was our best Paint & Sip event yet as we sold out all the available seats to benefit our scholarship fund,” reports OSULA President Andre Billups. “It was terrific learning with everyone how to create our own paintings. I enjoyed it a lot and my painting is on display in my living room!”

“This was our first fundraising event outside the annual Kickoff BBQ,” adds Urvi Sutariya, OSULA Executive Board member and fundraising chair. “It far exceeded our expectations and was a fun time while raising money for our scholarship fund. We raised $495 and we’d like to give a big THANKS to everyone who attended.”

OSULA would like to thank all Paint & Sip participants for their support of the OSULA Scholarship Fund, and encourage all SoCal Buckeye fans to consider giving generously via the following link: https://osula.alumni.osu.edu/donate-to-osula/
